PRIMARY FUNCTIONThis position is responsible for compiling and assessing data for facilities management and support services to include transportation, school nutrition maintenance and operations and facilities construction; creates and maintains databases relevant to GaDOE State Entitlement Applications and pupil transportation; performs a variety of administrative functions, monitor payment process and reporting information including proper location of expense.  Monitor and record vendor performance, review with provider and take corrective action as required.  Collect and analyze large volumes of data and develop clear and concise reports and trend analysis.  Conducts short and long-range analyses and projections for facilities management, maintenance and operations, transportation and school nutrition.

 

REPORTS TO: Deputy Superintendent-Chief Operations Officer

  

SALARY SCHEDULE: A-5 

WORK DAYS: 250 

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

1.Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training 

 

2.Experience, Skill, and Certification:

  • Four years of demonstrated analytical experience. 
  • Extensive knowledge of Facilities and Transportation rules and regulations. 
  • Knowledge and practices of budgeting and accounting in Georgia school districts. 
  • Knowledge of legal, procedural, and reporting requirements in school district facilities, transportation and school nutrition. 
  • Principals of supervision and training. 
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office: word processing, EXCEL, and PowerPoint software as well as in the Internet and email use. 
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skill. 
  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel and or MS Access. 
  • Expert Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products. 
  • Able to learn new technologies quickly. 
  • Able to take data from multiple sources, combine data and create meaningful reports 
  • Able to take initiative and add value as a data analyst showing in depth mastery of the data and its meaning 
  • Expert knowledge using formulas and macros. 
  • High attention to detail. 
  • Able to evaluate data and set up reports showing time availability of resources and materials based on requirements. 
  • Able to coach other staff in the best practices of data gathering and reporting. 
  • Able to multitask. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

1.Plan, organize, and supervise the fiscal activities of facilities and support services.

2. Collects, maintains, validates and analyzes data relevant for assessing facilities, maintenance and operations and support   services.

3. Maintains monitoring tools that capture relevant facilities/support services.

4. Develops   and   implements   measures   to   ensure   proper   operations   and maintenance of all systems.

5. Develops written reports to monitor contracts, vendor performance and transportation.

6. Reviews inspection reports, complaints and recommendations and ensures that corrective actions are taken.

7. Interprets laws, rules and regulations, and provides the most up to date information on safety regulations.

8. Conducts job hazard analysis to determine the following: specific job hazards associated with each job function, training requirements for each job function, and determines proper safety equipment and personal protective equipment required for each job function.

9. Performs accident investigations for occupational safety accidents, on-the-job injuries, and other safety-related complaints to determine accident cause, contributing factors, and corrective action to prevent recurrence.

10. Performs detailed cost estimates for new or renovation projects.

11. Orders and schedules materials, equipment and tools required for various projects.

12. Develops safety manuals, bulletins, brochures, and presentations.

13. Participates in the development and implementation of the District’s System Safety Program Plan.

14. Develops and oversees air monitoring and industrial hygiene projects in conjunction with consultants.

15. Develops policies, codes, safety standards, and procedures that become part of the operational policies. 

16. Reviews reports of injuries, property damage, and occupational diseases to determine causes and prevent recurrences.

17. Negotiates and coordinates regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

18. Participates in the internal safety audit program by conducting system safety audits, developing audit checklists, and writing audit reports.

19. Provides safety oversight of contractors and construction projects as required.

20. Manages safety projects and other related projects, which includes contract administration.

21. Makes annual objectives for health and safety department.

22. Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization.  

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT 

Incumbents will be considered “at will.”  Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade as determined by Human Resources and allowable experience.  The work calendar will be 250 days. Exempt A-5

OFFICE
