THE OPPORTUNITY

Susie King Taylor Community School (SKTCS) is a new charter seeking trailblazing educators to help students become curious, leaders of their learning. We are searching for creative, collaborative, innovative teachers who will help build a school around a rich culture of learning and community. SKTCS is seeking a passionate art educator who is:

• Interested in consistently growing in their field, improving their instruction and pedagogy, and bettering the lives of the students in their
• Able to work with other professionals to accomplish shared curricular
• Committed to progressive, innovative instructional techniques to enhance the lives of SKTCS students.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and teach highly engaging, innovative art curriculum and lessons that are aligned with Georgia Performance Standards and progressive pedagogical philosophy.
• Participate in professional learning, including instructional coaching and co-planning.
• Maintain school expectations to ensure a focused, safe, and caring environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of standards in all areas of study.
• Initiate and maintain communication with families regarding academic and social progress including phone calls, conferences, and home visits.

 QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in art education, fine arts or related field.
• Obtained or has the ability to obtain licensure in the state of Georgia.
• A commitment to developing progressive pedagogy.
• Deep dedication to learning and developing your teaching craft.
• A strong conviction that all students can learn when provided a challenging curriculum.
• Strong classroom management
• Ability to employ culturally relevant
