PRIMARY FUNCTION: As a SCCPSS District Groundsman you will maintain the appearance and functional soundness of our schools and facilities grounds.  The groundsman is responsible for maintaining equipment and materials, and for ensuring adequate stock levels of consumables.

 

REPORTS TO: Director, Maintenance & Operations (through the Supervisor)

 

SALARY SCHEDULE: G-6

WORK DAYS: 250

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Education Level: High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate and 2-year work experience

GROUNDSMAN

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:

Operating knowledge of all electrical and gas lifts of various sizes.

Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Incumbents will be considered “at will.”  Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade 6 and allowable experience as determined by Human Resources.  This position is considered to be “essential personnel, critical staff” when there is an event that creates security challenges or disruptions to district operations. This position may be required to work during identified periods of an emergency as defined in Policy Regulation GBRB-R, Title: Professional Personnel Time Schedules.  The work calendar will be 250 days. This position is Non-exempt and contributes to the Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS)
