Speech Pathology Assistant

Nature of Position A Speech Pathology Assistant will follow documented treatment plans and protocols developed by a licensed or certified Speech Language Pathologist.

 

Reports To Senior Director, Exceptional Children Education

 

Required • Associate degree in Communicative Disorders

 

Preferred • Bachelor’s Degree in Communicative Disorders

 

Experience, Skill, and Certification Preferred • College-based or clinical experience performing similar duties with children

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Deliver treatment to students as determined by the Speech Language Pathologist.

2. Assist with informal documentation.

3. Document student performance.

4. Assist the Speech Language Pathologist during assessment of students.

5. Perform clerical duties, maintain records, and prepare reports as necessary.

6. Assist with professional development activities.

7. Assist with departmental operations such as scheduling and scanning.

8. Performs other duties as necessary for the effective operations of the department.

 

Terms of Employment Incumbents will be considered “at will.”

 

Appropriate pay will be determined based on Grade 10 on the classified hourly scale and allowable experience as determined by Human Resources.
