PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for the total health service in the school(s) according to established guidelines throughtout the District in multiple locations as needed.  In this position, the nurse may habitually travel from school to school and work flexible hours.  This is a school-based, transient position. 

 

REPORTS TO:Lead Nurse/ Cluster School Nurse/Director Risk Management

SALARY SCHEDULE: Grade LPN= G-12; ADN= G14; BSN/MSN= G15/16

WORK DAYS: 200

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Education Level: Graduation from an accredited nursing program at the associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree level

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

 

  1. Coordinates activity with Lead Nurse for assignments based on workforce needs.
  2. Promotes communicable disease control through exclusion/readmission authorization of students having a contagious disease or condition.
  3. Works with parents, care providers, & community resources to meet students' health needs.
  4. Reviews and assesses student immunization records for required vaccinations. 
  5. Assumes responsibility for personal continuing education and professional development.
  6. Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness & safety of the school.

 

          Additional duties and responsibilities for RN's

  1. Conducts Medicaid billing for eligible students.
  2. Mentors nursing students in accordane with District approved standards. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Incumbents will be considered “at will.” This position is “essential personnel, critical staff” when there is an event that creates security challenges or disruptions to district operations, this position may be required to work during identified periods or an emergency as defined by Policy Regulation GBRB-R. Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade LPN= G-12; ADN= G14; BSN/MSN= G15/1616 and allowable experience as determined by Human Resources.  The work calendar will be the 200 days classified calendar.
